What Makes Us Different

We Are All About The Cats
At All Cats Hospital, cats aren't an afterthought or second-class citizens. They are the Stars - the reason we are here.
Our facility is quiet, clean, and without those scary dog smells. We take the time to look at things from a feline perspective, and try to make everything from the physical exam to hospitalization as feline friendly as possible. From hand-knitted mini-afghans for our patients recovering from surgery to hand-made cat-nip knots for all our new patients, we are all about the cat.

Board-Certification in Feline Practice
Dr. Edwards became board-certified in feline practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 1995. Certification includes an arduous application process, including two case studies, a challenging board examination in feline medicine and surgery, and demanding requirements in continuing education.
Does someone need to be certified in feline practice to be good at what they do? Of course not. But certification indicates a real and continuing commitment to the feline species and their care. You will see this commitment in every detail of All Cats Hospital.

American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Feline Referral (Specialist) Accreditation
In November 2008, All Cats Hospital became the 2nd veterinary hospital in the country to attain this distinction.
Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care. AAHA regularly inspects our hospital to ensure that we comply with the association’s standards for facilities, equipment, and quality procedures.
These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital, including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, pet health records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental and nursing care, diagnostic imaging, and anesthesiology.
AAHA standards are recognized around the world as the benchmark for quality care in veterinary medicine. To learn more about AAHA or what they require in an accredited referral practice, click here.

Integrative and Alternative Care

This is just another way that we have to help keep our patients well. The doctors here are well trained in Western medicine, and Dr. Edwards has even obtained board certification in feline practice. The benefits of Western medicine are many and we are committed to keeping this as the center of our practice.

But there are common feline conditions that don't respond well to Western medicine and sometimes, with some cats, getting the Western medicine from the outside of the cat to the inside of the cat is just not possible. This is where acupuncture and herbal therapy can shine.

Dr. MacCallum is certified in both acupuncture and herbal medicine. She is at All Cats Hospital on Fridays to do traditional Chinese medicine examinations and treatment.

Dr. Edwards is in the process of becoming certified in acupuncture. She incorporates acupuncture in her treatment of ill cats to hasten recovery. All treatments are discussed with you. If you are not comfortable with acupuncture, then this treatment option will not be used on your cat.
