Behavior Counseling

Often the problem we see with our cats has nothing to do with a physical ailment but it is behavioral. Some behavioral problems can be so serious that they threaten the life of the cat when a frustrated or fearful cat owner can no longer cope with the difficult or aggressive actions of their cat and are considering euthanasia.

We are well trained in pet behavior and are prepared to counsel and teach you how to treat your cat's fear, anxiety or aggression based problems. At times medications may even be prescribed as part of the treatment protocol.

The most common behavior problem we see is urinating outside the litter box. Early treatment is often the difference between a favorable outcome (back in the box and everyone is happy) and failure.

Prior to behavioral counseling, we recommend ruling out all possible medical problems. If your kitty is urinating outside the box because they are painful, no amount of behavioral modification is going to be successful.
