The Story Behind The All Cats Hospital Sign
The Christmas after we opened (1986), we changed our sign to read “Meowy Catmas.” We were amazed by the response. We realized the potential when we noticed a family (who were not yet clients) posing in front of our sign for photos. They used them on their Christmas cards.
On April 22, 2012, our sign was the victim of a hit and run accident. The Largo landmark is unfortuneately beyond repair. We will be replacing the sign as soon as possible, but it just won’t be the same. To learn more about our sign, scroll down.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much good news on the sign front. Largo has issued a violation. Since our wonderful old sign is not in compliance with newer regulations, we cannot repair it. It has to be replaced:-(
Our plan is to replace it with a sign that will allow us to continue to exercise our love for cats and good humor.
In discussions with the city, the only place that the sign can be placed is quite a bit further from the road. We have ordered the sign and will hopefully have it installed in the next couple of months.
We taken down the old wreck of a sign. The city will allow me to put out a flutter sign during the period when I am without a sign (as the new one is being built).
It is a sad time for the All Cats sign. I’ll keep you informed as we have new information.
Finally, some good news!! Our new sign is here and it is beautiful! It was a long and arduous process, but worth it in the long run.
A new theory regarding who hit the old sign in the first place: When a client heard that the sign read “Vulcan Cats Say Live Long and Pros-purr” when it was hit, said, “Perhaps it was hit by a Klingon.”
Perhaps indeed – it would be just like a Klingon to hit and run;-)
